What the public expects in the 2020 state of the nation address(SONA).

The year has already started and as usual we are all expecting the president of the state President Cyril Ramaphosa to deliver the state of the nation address and the official opening of parliament sometime next week. It hasn't been an easy year with so many challenges that the country faced last year and the people almost lost faith the government and the Ramaphosa administration.

The president has this one opportunity to restore calm and belief in the nation.

When he took over the reigns from the former president Jacob Zuma to revive the little bit of respect the ANC had left, the ideas he was driving were not entirely his.

''Thuma mina'' was what I can call a mere sacrifice to buy him time to draw an action plan for the country, which I believe he never had a solid and concrete one. Ever since he came into power things were not really in his favour, it has been a crisis after the other. the country still remain stuck in a state of peril.

the level of crime is at the moment at its highest point in the country. the unemployment rate has been going high and high but all he has been saying is '' we have plans to fight unemployment." last year alone we saw a significant increase in gender based violence and it had a huge toll on our economy.

In a nutshell, Ramaphosa has inherited the nation in despair. however not all hope is lost. things can be turned around having the right leaders in place.

the only evident thing that Ramaphosa was able to do and is still working towards is uprooting corruption in the government. a lot of people are looking forward to hear what will happen with the people who are Implicated in state capture and something really need to be done.

In the next state of the nation address I am expecting few things which includes:

The plan to boost the economy.
when the president takes the podium he should bear in mind that the country as a whole knows that the economy of South Africa is balancing on broken crutches and something needs to be done urgently before we move totally into a junk status.

Plans to address job creation.
statistics SA revealed last year that the unemployment rate in south Africa is above 30% and it is a national crisis which needs the government attention. Having this highest unemployment rates in the world still affects investor confidence and the economy.

the jobs summit that was hailed for attracting the commitment of the private sector has yet to yield notable and impactful results.

Load shedding
what are the plans of government to help with load shedding? it is affecting all of us and the economy as a whole and is also a matter of urgency.
