Review on the movie Shattered Glass

Shattered Glass is a movie that is written and directed by Billy Ray. It is based on a true story of Stephen Glass. The starrings in this movie are Hayden Christensen as Stephen Glass, Peter Sarsgaard as Charles Lane, Chloë Sevigny as Caitlin Avey and Rosario Dawson as Andy fox. The movie falls under the genre of drama. It is rated PG-13 for language, sexual reference and brief drug use. It is a 95 minutes movie and it's by Lions Gate films Inc.

This is a movie that tells the true story of Stephen Glass , a staff writer for The New Republic  and a freelance feature writer for Rolling stone and Harper's. In the mid 90's his writings had already made him to become one of the best, skilled and talented young journalist in Washington. There was a great turn in his life after it was discovered that half of his work was fabricated. That was how his career ended. The movie raises questions about what it takes to become a good and successful journalist. The movie also shows the relationship between writers and editors and it focuses on the responsibility of a editor to both defend the writers reputation and uphold the highest editorial standards. Stephen Glass have worked under two editors under his years of working at The New Republic, Michael Kelly and Charles Lane. Glass saw Michael as his mentor and he was hurt when Michael was fired because of an disagreement with the publisher. He was replaced by an inexperienced staff writer Charles Lane whom Glass was even good than him. Glass noticed how important it is to have editorial support as a Journalist .

The acting in this movie was one of the best. The actors they all managed to portray their characters. They managed to bring the movie to life. Haydens acting was good on this movie compared to when he was acting on the Star wars. On some of the movies he was acting he was even breathing too much while speaking and we couldn't hear what he was saying but on this one he was on point. When I first saw that he was part of the movie and playing the main character I was like no,until I had a chance to watch the movie. Peter Sarsgaard's acting was also one of his best.

The movie doesn't have lot of characters which makes us to know who is who. The camera's used in the movie were great. The movie was well edited and the sounds it was great. The problem is the way they just change the scenes. Billy Ray did a wonderful work directing this movie.

I give this movie 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars out of 5.

I recommend that everyone who hasn't seen the movie to check it out especially those who want to go into journalism.. It is worth every cent.
